CharterDesk

Finance

Fee, VAT and APA, worked out as you type

Finance is the agent that keeps a yacht charter’s money in order. It works out the fee, VAT and APA as you type, sets the deposit and balance from the contract with their due dates, and matches each payment when the bank says it arrived.

Step by step

  1. The calculator works out fee, VAT and APA as you type, for the cruising area you choose.
  2. From the signed contract it sets the deposit, the balance and the APA, each with its due date.
  3. It drafts the payment emails for you to send.
  4. When the bank says a payment arrived, it matches it to the charter.
  5. Anything due soon or late goes to the top of Waiting on you.

What it never does

It never takes or moves money, and never sends a payment email without you.

Straight answers

Does it ever send anything for me?
No. Every reply, proposal, availability request and payment email waits on the deal until you read it and press send. That is CharterDesk’s one rule.
Does it work out VAT and APA?
Yes. The calculator works out fee, VAT for the cruising area and APA as you type. VAT rules change, so check the figure before it goes into a contract.
Does it take payments?
No. Payments go to your bank as they do now. Finance sets the due dates and matches each payment when the bank says it arrived.
